The University Of Wyoming Division of Communication Disorders is home to the American Sign Language Studies program. We are seeking applicants for a faculty position open at the Assistant Lecturer level. This is a full-time, 9-month position renewed annually. Salary and benefits are competitive. Essential duties and responsibilities for this position are teaching American Sign Language I & II and/or Advanced ASL and possibly other courses. Knowledge and ability to teach in person (on the Main UW Campus) as well as online as needed is also an essential duty. The minimum qualifications are an earned master?s degree, fluency in ASL with official the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) scores reported, and evidence of effective communication and collaboration. Desired qualifications include certification from the American Sign Language Teacher’s Association (please report certified level), and/or certification as a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing or speech-language pathologist Experience in teaching ASL, and knowledge of Deaf culture also preferred.

The Division of Communication Disorders offers an undergraduate degree in speech-language-hearing sciences and a CAA accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology. The Division offers the American Sign Language Studies certificate, a certificate program that includes provides a foundation of American Sign Language skills and an introduction to Deaf sociocultural issues. The University of Wyoming is located in Laramie, which offers small town life and plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities. Laramie is 45 minutes from Cheyenne, WY; 60 minutes from Ft.
