Care Support Worker
Garry is a man in the prime of life, he loves football, computer games, films, photography and going to the pub.
He is moving to his own home soon and he needs Care Support Workers to help him lead the most independent life that he can.
Garry is deaf and uses BSL to communicate. He has a number of health needs and wants your help to stay well.
Sometimes Garry finds life hard and he can become frustrated, he needs your help to cope with all the challenges that life throws at him. Sometimes Garry can become angry, he has some difficult days and he needs consistent support from people he trusts and who he can develop positive relationship with.
Garry would like to interview Care Support Workers to work with him to support him to lead the life that he wants.
If you’ve got a British Sign Language qualification and the drive to make a real difference through enabling work, this is an outstanding opportunity to support a deserving person and enhance his life.
Various hours are available, the rota is flexible to meet Garry’s needs.

Sleep ins are required and will be paid accordingly.
As a Care Support Worker, you will be supporting Garry through his day-to-day activities.
Joining an existing team who support Garry, you’ll work in line with Garry’s individual care plans and risk assessments.
To be considered as Garry’s Care Support Worker, you will need:
– A BSL Level 1 qualification and the willingness to work towards Level 2
– A full, valid driving licence
– A current DBS
Experience of working with people who are deaf with complex physical and mental health conditions is desirable.
Garry will be involved in all interviews; he enjoys the company of fun people who have a positive approach.
Garry wants you to ‘do with’ not ‘do to’ him; his life, his home.
You will be required to undertake mandatory training or be in possession of current certificates.
Other titles for this role may including Personal Assistant, Personal Care Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker, or Care Assistant.
