Description

The purpose of the job is to enable young people referred to the service to maximise their opportunities for educational achievement. In relation to a recent referral a teacher, practitioner who can use BSL is required for 18hours/ providing week one to one support out of school. In the role the post holder will provide a range of education interventions which will include; 1:1 tuition and possibly small group work.

The post holder will also coordinate and deliver integrated packages of support for the young people to promote their emotional and developmental needs including providing various levels of information, advice, advocacy and mentoring. The post holder will deliver a curriculum up to and including GCSEs (with a focus on English) functional skills and vocational qualifications.. CONTEXT Baked bean Education Service delivers intensive support and provides an academic and vocational curriculum for disengaged pupils. The Education Adviser will work closely with a network of other professional staff, within a multi-agency framework that will include both internal BB-Ed staff as well as partners in the local authority education, social services, and leisure departments.
