Senior Finance Business Partner
Permanent Contract
£56,939 – £69,593 per annum

We are looking for a highly-motivated finance professional to work as a Senior Finance Business Partner within the Finance, Commercial and Corporate Services team. Responsibilities of the role will include assisting with the financial management of the Corporation’s development activities, including its major project, East Bank. This role will also provide input into the commercial management of the Corporation’s development activities, in the context of its wider financial, commercial and tax position.

The Role

The role will involve all aspects of financial management – including funding, budgeting and reporting. It will support the Head of Finance (Development) and key stakeholders within the Development directorate in the preparation of budgets, long-term forecasts and cash flow projections for the Corporation’s Development activities (including East Bank), ensuring these represent the views of the business to enable effective management of budget and financial risks.

The role will also support the Head of Finance (Development) in providing advice to the Corporation’s Finance Director, Deputy Chief Executive, Executive Management Team, Investment Committee and Board on the impact of the Corporation’s development activities on its long-term plans. It will also need to present accurate and timely management information based on a sound knowledge of business planning, financial strategy, capital strategy, performance and risk management.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) with significant post qualification experience in a real estate, development, construction or major project environment

The Person

  • Demonstrable experience of senior finance business partnering
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail while maintaining a big picture perspective
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex information to the business and finance alike at all levels simply and clearly

The organisation is about to enter into an exciting period of its existence as it will embark on the construction of the East Bank project – a new powerhouse of culture, education, innovation and growth – which will create sites at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for Sadler’s Wells, BBC Music and the V&A (in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution), as well as University College London and University of the Arts London’s London College of Fashion. The role holder will need to understand how this project, along with all the Corporation’s other activities, impacts upon its annual budget and long-term financial position.
