Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) is one of the largest locally based housing organisations in the East Midlands. Across the region we manage over 9,000 homes; house more than 15,000 tenants; provide over 1,500 bed spaces for people with support/care needs, in over 250 properties; and provide more than 500,000 hours of care and support each year. NCHA are looking to recruit support staff to join our service for deaf individuals on a fixed term basis.
Do you have a British Sign Language qualification, or are you from the deaf community?
Fisher Lane, part of the NCHA family, is a specific project for deaf individuals and those experiencing hearing loss, based in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. The service aims to enhance and assist individuals to develop essential life skills and build confidence. We have a full time (37 hours per week) Support Worker role available on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. Support, which may be either within the home or in the community, may include personal care, administering medication, helping with finances, moving and handling duties – as you can see, the list is varied and no two days will be the same! Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.
All successful candidates will be required to work on a shift basis between 7am and 10pm including weekends and bank holidays.
