Support Worker

This is a fixed-term contract until 30th September 2021 with possible 6 months extension. 

We are seeking a committed individual to join our small and friendly team in Durham to support our service users who are Deaf, Deafened & Hard of Hearing with their ongoing development and maintenance of independent living in their homes (and where appropriate) the wider community, by giving appropriate support and using advice networks.

As part of the role, you will be working in partnership with the service user, their family, and professional services to ensure service user’s needs are met by following support plans, ensuring case notes are read and regularly reviewed as well as being part of the rota to cover the drop in service at various locations in Durham.

To be successful ideally, you will have healthcare / support work background and have previous experience of working with the deaf community.

It is essential that you can communicate using British Sign Language skills to a level 2 standard and be able to travel across County Durham therefore access to a car is essential for this post.
