Band/Grade MPS/UPS +2 SEN pa (2 SEN for qualified ToD, I SEN for teacher in training)

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our experienced and skilled team of teachers and specialist staff to provide support and teaching to children with hearing impairment across Bradford District. The post will involve:
Support to teachers, pupils and parents/carers in developing and managing approaches and provision for deaf/hearing impaired children in Primary and Secondary Schools
Optimising outcomes for these children by providing guidance to schools through assessment, teaching, training and support for staff.
A commitment to providing families with balanced, unbiased advice to enable them to make an informed choice for their deaf children
Working in partnership with other agencies involved in services to deaf children
Significant recent experience of working with deaf/hearing impaired children is desirable.
Applications are welcome from experienced and qualified teachers of the deaf, and good teachers in Primary or Secondary schools, looking to develop their career in working with children with hearing impairment. You must be willing to undertake specialist training for this post, i.e. complete a 2 year distance learning course.
