Prepare to be awed and inspired by Deaf Rave, a dynamic collective based in London that brings together the incredible talents of Deaf DJs and performers. Founded by the visionary Troi Lee, also known as DJ Chinaman.

Deaf Rave has spent the last two decades breaking barriers and fostering opportunities for Deaf artists. This inclusive platform uses British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate and express artistry, ensuring every supporter feels welcomed with open arms.

Upcoming Festival: A Celebration Like No Other!

Mark your calendars for the Deaf Rave Festival on 5th October 2024 at Rich Mix, London. This event promises a day and night filled with enjoyment, creativity, community and inclusivity.

Daytime Fun for All Ages
From 11 am to 5 pm, families can enjoy a variety of activities including:
• Music | Dance | Mime
• Soft play | Exotic pet corner | Face painting | Arts & Crafts
• Gaming Zone
• Workshops: DJ | VJ | Dance | Graffiti. Sign-up early to guarantee places
• Sports: Football Darts | Boxing
• Stalls | Food
Children under the age of 3 enter for free, making it a perfect family outing.

Evening Extravaganza for Adults
For those 18 and over, the festival continues from 8 pm to 2 am, featuring:
• Live Performances| Sign Song | Sign Rap. Unique performances blending sign language and music.
• DJs: Showcasing talent across genres
• Dance | Visuals: Immerse yourself in stunning visual performances.

Deaf Rave’s Mission and Impact

Deaf Rave is more than just an entertainment group; it’s a movement that highlights the incredible talents within Deaf communities worldwide. Their mission is to curate unforgettable events, combining heart-thumping rhythms with visually captivating performances in sign-songs, dance, comedy, and Visual Vernacular (VV). The collective’s dedication extends beyond festivals, offering workshops in DJing, Event Management, VJing, and BSL. The DJ workshops are now rolling out into schools for Deaf children.

Supported by the Arts Council England, Deaf Rave is an NPO that provides platforms not only for Deaf Artists but also empowers the Deaf community through workshops and partnerships with a diversity of organisations. Their innovative use of new technology, like the Woojer vibration backpack, creates a sensory journey like no other.

Deaf Rave’s flagship event isn’t just about music; it’s about championing diversity, inclusivity, and celebrating Deaf culture in all its vibrant glory. Following the success of Deaf Rave’s 20-year anniversary festival in 2023, this year’s festival includes many new & upcoming young Deaf artists and performers.
