British Sign Language Level 6

This qualification is useful for those who already work, or wish to work, in a professional capacity with Deaf people, such as teachers, social workers, volunteers or staff who engage with deaf people regularly.

Our programme will help you to use and understand an extensive range of complex vocabulary, including technical language and a wide range of regional sign variations.

As a student of Deaf Unity training, you will receive full support from our programme manager and experienced tutors to fully meet your learning needs and expectations.

Assessment is in the form of filmed clips, live observations and written work which will be assessed both internally by the centre and externally by assessors from the examination board, Signature. It is a requirement that all students participate in all 30 days to be ready for assessment at the end of the programme.

On completion of the BSL Level 6 certificate students may progress onto either Signature Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting or in Sign Language Translation

Please note: You will undergo a pre-course assessment to evaluate your ability to meet course specifications. This assessment includes a session with a Deaf tutor, who will provide formal, constructive feedback to aid your progression as a BSL user. The assessment fee is £15.
