Learn about the lives and sacrifices of the deaf community during WWI in the United Kingdom with the historian Peter Brown.
Event programme:
-Screening of the episode 14 from series 34 of the See Hear programme
-Talk by Peter Brown, British Sign Language (BSL) teacher at City Lit and researcher of deaf history
-Dinner
You will also have an opportunity to view our exhibition discovering the history of our two WWI memorials and tracing the lives of people who worked in the church and whose lives were affected by the War.
Doors to open at 6pm with the event commencing at 6.30.
The event is part of our ‘Sharing our Future’ project and has been made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is free for all to attend but please register to help us manage the numbers and prepare the space.
