Take part in a wide variety of events happening throughout June as part of Newham Heritage Month 2024.

D/deaf accessible with BSL interpretation

Part 1
12pm – 12:30pm & 2pm – 2:30pm

Capture your own memories in physical form, using objects from the park to create cyanotype prints, one for you to keep and one which we’ll turn into bunting to hang in the bandstand to celebrate the park’s 150th birthday. The workshop will take about 20 minutes, the prints need to be left in the sun (how long depends on how sunny it is on the day!) then washed (which the team will do for you). If the sun has been on our side, you can return to collect your print at the end of the time slot.

All ages welcome, children must be supervised.

Part 2:
12:30pm – 1:30pm & 2:30pm – 3:30pm

As West ham park celebrates its 150th year this year and continues to be the biggest and one of the most visited parks in the borough, a lot of memories have been made over its many years.
We’ve sought out people to share their stories and had some fascinating revelations in the process. These personal and touching stories reveal a lot about how Newham has changed over the years, and how this valued public space has shaped the lives of local people.
