We work to ensure that deaf youths are shown that the world is their oyster and that they can dream as big as their peers. This needs to start at an early juncture, with children and young people being presented with role models who have navigated the path before them, allowing their aspirations to grow.
They then need to be supported, along with the professionals and adults around them, to learn about the choices ahead of them and what support is out there. Will they leave school and enter the workforce, pursue vocational training or move on to further and higher education?
Deaf Unity works directly with schools and young people to make change happen, enabling the systems and structures that ensure dreams are being nurtured and that appropriate, effective and equitable Careers Advice is available to deaf students.
